Put it on stands and run things till you find the noise. It could be a wire or line tapping something as well

I remember reading on here someone had a similar problem. A little flange hitting something making a noise. Good luck fixing this.

I can't see where is could be contacting anything but will check again.

It was Frank, when he installed his 1350 he had this problem with the yoke, needle nose pliers fixed it. On the transfer case side

I don't think that would cause a bind though. Only a taping noise I think. You can actually feel mine and feel it in the shifter knob on the transfer case.

It's always had 5 lugs. That can't be it lol.

No- the balancing wouldn't likely do it. But it could cause vibration.

But if it was a groove off I could se it making some trouble.

Any chance you could run a different shaft up front to see it that's the problem?

I'm gonna try that. But if the ujoints weren't lined up right could it make it bind?

Well- I haven't tried it! Haha. Short of having the wrong ratio in the axle, it's one of the only things I could think of.

It's not a ratio problem because I can leave the front hubs unlocked and it still happens.

And it's a brand new axle- that means it just has to be the driveshaft.

Does it still do it without the driveshaft?

Haven't tried it with the driveshaft out. Gonna spin it and make the u joints line up and if that doesn't work I'll pull the driveshaft.

While you have one end loose, move the double cardan around and see if it's binding up.

I think it will only cause vibration. Probably not the binding you are experiencing. Here is a good (better than Lee's) picture of how it's supposed to be.
