Ground help

Ok, I can for love of god get my cb radio to tune.... Swr is above 3 for everything

I will admit I suck with wiring...



What is wrong.... Also just put a yellow crimp connector on because the one that came with the antenna rusted due to leakage....

Please help

Did you scrape the paint off be for grounding it?

I have been told through the years the CB coax should be in multiples of 6ft lengths. Not sure if this is correct or just urban legend. Also look at your actual CB mount and where the antenna screws into. See if there is any corrosion on it. Also check you antenna to see if there are any cracks in the fiberglass. This will cause the antenna to not function properly.
Another option is to stop by a CB shop and have them tune it. Sometimes you may have to call uncle.

BTW, the wires running from direct battery connection should have an in-line fuse. The wires to the cigar lighter in the dash might be a better place to get power.

don't ground power negative straight to battery. on the passenger side (door side) near the floor there are a couple of ground straps already in place, you can use one of those to ground to.

check you have your antenna side connections stacked in the proper order and properly grounded - do you have a pic of that?

Then look the previous posted firestik to tune your antenna.\
