JeepDrum New member May 17, 2016 #3 I know Lowrance is a common brand used by boaters if that helps at all. If it works on the water I would think it would be fine for offroading too.

Tumbleweed Member May 17, 2016 #5 Generally speaking, a Garmin will have the largest selection of maps. There are a lot of maps, free and paid, that won't work on a GPS other than Garmin. Check out GPSfiledepot.com for maps for various sections of the country.
