The following are things you can do to increase gas mileage, but only a little.
- Coast to a stop whenever possible.
- If you'll be sitting in traffic without moving for more than 5 minutes - while waiting for a train to pass, for instance - shut off the engine.
- Go without the A/C whenever possible.
- When mall crawling, pull through parking spots - avoiding backing up.
- Keep tires inflated to the proper pressure.
- Don't "warm up" your Jeep in the mornings.
- Change your air filter every time you change your oil.
Doing all these things might bump you up 1 mile-per-gallon which doesn't sound like much, but at 3.59 a gallon (at least here in the 'Plex) it helps.
