Gas milage with 35s

All I know is that I get 15mpg and spend about $200 a week on gas but I love my Jeep. I even sold my Mazda since it never got driven. I run 35's and still have the factory 3.73 gears.

17.3 city/highway combined, 2014 3.6 auto 4.10s 3.5 lift, 35's bumpers, sliders, armor, hardtop with hills. 18.2 highway under 70mph. Hand calculated

12.0mpg loaded with all kinds of crap on the roof, a 50 mph headwind trying to run 75mph uphill the entire tank. Oh and it was snowing

I've reached 17.6 on highway going under 65. I ran a bull dog triple tuner,K&N filter and snorkel. I also run a 2DR with no backseats and didn't run my spare 35 at that time of getting 17.6

Great post, please advise on the result. Your tire size and gear is what I planned on also. I read about a higher rpm actually providing better MPG on the highway by being at a sweet spot in the rpm.

Coming back from slick rock i checked it at 19.1. 3in enforcer. A/T hankook tires, 2dr, top and doors on with AC blowing, manual trans and the stock sport 3.21 gears.

Isn't it downhill all the way home from slick rock for you? :)

On my old to 2 door I went from getting bout 19mpg (stock) to 12 when I went on 35's, bought a superchips flashpaq ran it on the towing tune and went back up too around 18mpg (stock 4.10 gears) the recalibrated speedometer and tune helped a lot

I have been running 35s for about a month now, well 34.5s who am I kidding and I am getting about 14 mpg with mixed city/highway driving. I was getting right at 16 with my stock 32s. I drive like a grandma though unless I am on a trail then I give her hell. I have the 3.8 engine with 3:73 gears and two extra doors so...

Update here...

I took it into the dealership and they did a flash update that they said would help. I drove to Big Bear and found out why I may be getting such poor milage...I have a gargantuan, oversized, super heavy, lead foot! ha ha! I live in LA so lots of traffic + I wanna get the hell home after work = piss poor gas milage:yup:

I backed off the throttle on the highway and what do you know, my mpg popped up to 16.5 (per the digital readout) and I'm getting 14/15mpg for my city driving.

Taking it easy is not just for the trails, thanks to all who gave input, really appreciate your advice and deductive skills. Taking it slow now to save the $$$ for more parts! :2thumbsup:

If your speedo isn't calibrated for your tire size your digital readout will not be correct.

I also get good fuel mileage with mine, running 35's..... we just took a trip to Pigeon Forge, Tn, trip mileage was around 1875 miles, mostly highway, but I got 18.6 to 18.9.... this was running 89* gas and I do have a Superchip's tune on the 3.6L....
