fatal roll over at Laurel Lakes near Mammoth Lakes

Is it possible he was wearing his seat belt and the buckle failed during the roll over?

I think more likely than his seatbelt just failing would be maybe had to get out (maybe to look at how much room he had) then when he got back in, the extreme angle made it so his belt wouldn't pull out??? This has happened to me several times when wheeling- it's the only reason I put in race harnesses, and it's pretty much the only time I wear the harness (when my standard belt won't pull out due to extreme angle)

It seems like a stretch, but it could've happened.

To clarify for Adam- my money still says he just wasn't wearing one.

I don't understand why people can't just accept the fact that some people don't wear seatbelts all the time. Why do excuses always have to be made?

I think my scenario is more likely than the seatbelt just failing.

My money would say he just wasn't wearing one- but if you're going to try to give him the benefit of the doubt, I think it's a possibility. That's why I said it was a stretch.

I wasn't trying to make an excuse, just asked if it was a possibility, and really only because I've questioned the reliability of the factory seat belt system and considered 5 point harnesses. Doesn't matter to me if the guy was wearing it or not.
