EZ-E Build Thread

Did you use some lube on the tire and rim? I had to fight more with cozdudes mud graplers than my trails but it wasnt too bad. I did however try it the wrong way at first and had myself stumped till I flipped the wheel around and it fit right in.

Yea I used soapy water. Made sure the wheel was the right way. I was using my 205lb self and jumping on the wheel and it wasn't even close to seating into the tire

Try using just soap, no water. Smear some dish soap around the bead of the tire and lay the tire on the floor, push the wheel into the tire at a 45 degree angle, not flat.

Ok I'll give that a try and let you know how it goes.

Well I dunno, maybe I was doing something wrong but I just couldn't get it to go on. Time to pay a professional. Haha

Edit: took them 10 minutes and they did it for free. No complaints

Yeah if they actually used tire paste instead of soap it works a lot better. Soap seems to dry up or wipe off too easy

Mounted the Beadlocks. Just gotta air them up and balance them. Also got the rear rigid duallys wired up.

My jeep looks like it hit an IED.

Tomorrow is cage and rock skins.

Got the tires mounted, pulled the front axle and mounted up one of the rock skins. Decided to keep them raw. I think I like the look with the rings on the wheels.

I also pulled the axleshaft. Found out that not only had the u-joint busted, but the splined end actually snapped right at the carrier. So now I've gotta fish that out and get a whole new shaft. These were G2 shafts. Thinking of just getting some stock shafts and just keeping one for a spare. Not really seeing the benefit of spending the extra money when they just snap anyways.

Finally got the chunk out of the carrier. Had to take the ring gear off to get to it. Surprisingly the locker was undamaged. ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1437083457.930787.jpg

Got the synergy weld on trackbar bracket welded up. Cleaned the axle up last night. Painting it and reinstalling this afternoon. Should be back on all fours tonight, after being down for the last two weeks.

Got it 95% back together. Test comes tomorrow when I pull a trailer to Oklahoma and back. Round trip is 10hrs.

Pretty much done now. Just have to order up a new passenger side front shaft and the Jeep will be back to 100%. Still waiting on my rockhard rear center bar that was on back order.
