I know how much you guys love your EVO stuff so I need some help here. I am closing in on finishing an LS swap, axle swap, and tire change to 40" I currently have a JCR rear bumper / tire carrier that has served me well but I don't believe it is up to handling a 40 and I am ready to change up the look back there anyways. I have been looking at the EVO rear tire carrier that also requires the EVo rock skins as well to be mounted.
2 questions here..... First everyone knows that the sheet metal on these things is paper thin. Will the rock skins really stiffen it up enough back there to mount the carrier well and have it hold up without buckling anything?
Second, the rock skins come in aluminum or steel. My first choice is aluminum for several reasons, but should the steel be considered instead for strength or does it matter?
