EVO aluminum rear fascia quesion

It's splitting hairs but when I first came across this product I instantly thought "fuckin eh, what a great way to save weight and provide clearance for a larger spare". Two specific functions, I didn't give any thought to the fact that it might look nice.

I'm just an EVO "fanboy"/whore (some call us) defending my purchase. LOL. And just so you know the fascia isn't the first, they do sell shirts, stickers and hats. ;) Though all EVO products come with a money back guarantee promise to improve MPG by 0.37543. :yup:

Oh make no mistake. I dig EVO stuff. I have some of their product.

For the must have functions those two should suffice. The other is that in some states they have a bumper requirement. And the facia should comply with the minimum requirements for those states.

It's a hell of a lot easier to set your drink on the fascia than the crossmember. (After the trail run of course)

I hope I didn't come across as bad mounting EVO. They are a good company without a doubt. They just haven't till now made parts with zero function. This is simply for looks

It was just an observation.

While you are technically correct (the part itself has zero function) EVO is still a business. Their tire carrier does have a function, and when people run without a bumper, they might not like the look, so they made a piece to clean up the full installation of it all, and people asked for it. Any good business will make a product if there is a demand for it. If I guaranteed mel he'd make 10 million selling EVO branded mirror dice, you'd see them on the shelves real quick.

This,

The fascia compliments the Evo tire carrier. Most jk owners want bumpers to match front and rear. It only makes sense to offer it.

I bought the fascia as a pseudo bumper, to go along with my evo tire carrier, so I won't get a ticket for not having a bumper here in California. So, in that sense it is functional...for me.
