So I'm pretty sure my electric power steering is going out. I had the Jeep serviced today and when they were pulling the Jeep out I heard a little whine. I thought it was my fan at first because it was warm and the a/c was on. I had to shut off the Jeep in the drive thru and when I went to start it....it just gave a bump. That was weird so when I started it again the check engine light was on and the power steering wasn't there. I ran it over to the dealer and when she started it up the power steering came back! I noticed on my cross country trip i would smell some kinda gear oil on the trip. Its hard to recognize because that's a long trip with a lot of cars. I noticed the steering even would feel weird at times when I was backing out the Jeep. They reset the codes and made a note so when I come back they can look at it. I checked the battery, the can buss, and looked at all the connectors. Im at a loss because it seems to be fine now even though I know it's probably not. Here is a list of the codes they gave me.
I'm pretty sure they didn't test the batteries. The Jeep sat there all week without starting so I'm doubting that is it, but who knows. Maybe it was a computer glitch. Guess I'll just keep driving it and see what happens.
