So, I've been reluctant to post up these pics being that I know it's all just lipstick on a pig but knowing that it'll be a couple of years before we can build something nice, we decided to make some minor improvements to the existing home and make it a little nicer to live in. With that said, I just got done helping the bathroom a bit and think it came out okay. Here are a couple of before pics.

Ya know. The right lipstick on the right pig can make a noticeable improvement. Great job on all the rooms. I like the bathroom transformation the best. 😎🤙

And, here are a few before and after shots of the bedrooms.

This is what the master bedroom looked like when we first got the place.

And, after removing all the shit, doing some wall repair, hitting it up with some paint and adding some carpet, this is what it looks like now.

Fortunately, the previous owner kept the closet doors and I was able to fix and reinstall them.

Again, I know none of this is anything to write home about but it's what we've been up to and thought I would share.
Looking good. 🍸🍺🍻A lot of work looks like you're doing a fantastic job. Holy floor registers Batman!!! Thats crazy.

Okay, along with the bathroom, bedrooms and living room, I've also spent some time adding some lipstick on the kitchen and hallway. Essentially, getting rid of the wall paper, fixing the light over the sink and maybe most importantly, re-doing the floor. Here are some pics of what things looked like before.

Far from perfect but a better than it was or at least, for us anyway. Only problem is, working on this stuff is a slippery slope and one that makes me want to redo cabinets and counter tops and and and LOL! But, I'm gonna try my hardest to just move on to some of the other rooms and keep making things good enough

Are they solid wood cabinets?
The frame and drawers are solid wood but the face of the cabinets are plywood. Although, a really nice plywood and not like the kind of stuff you find at Home Depot. Not sure what kind of wood it is but all of it is well made.

Looking great! Painting cabinets would be easy if you didn’t have to strip/prep them all lol
The quality of the wood is nice enough that, if anything, I might want to refinish them and then add new counter tops. Although, that would be exceeding what I was wanting to budget for all this LOL
Using that TSP stuff makes it a bit easier. Once you “wash” them with it, you can apply paint after they dry really well… so I was told when we considered doing ours.
TSP is a good degreaser for sure but I've used liquid sandpaper in the past on varnishes and that worked out great. Sanding would be the best though.

Probably like a Baltic birch or something similar. What about sanding them down and staining them? Then do some concrete countertops. Would be easier and DIY friendly.

Back in the day, when I was in architecture school and doing a lot of woodworking, we used to use what was called Fin plywood. Essentially, a really high grade birch or the like and it was great for making furniture. Being that the mobile home side of the house was made in the 60's, I'm thinking that or what you're referring to is what it is. Sanding them down and re-staining them is what I would do over painting for sure. They're worn from time and use but you can see how with a little help, they would look good.

A concrete counter top would be awesome and a great idea! Would you do straight up concrete or mix in fiberglass or some other kind of aggregate to help lighten it up?

I would just do straight concrete. I think quickcrete makes a countertop specific one but it’s expensive. They are heavy but since it’s a small amount it’s not too heavy. They make an epoxy kit too that is super cool you can put over them and they look like normal countertops after. The epoxy is called stonecoat. We talked about do that but probably just do granite instead.
