Critter Tread - Trapping

Decided to set up my 650s in the narrow spot again. They seem to travel through here.

And right next to it is where this guy was last night. I anchored a chain across the ground and tied 6 traps to it. I'll put some creative foot guiding and some mouse squeakers and hope he spends some time around here.

Watched a mink screw around while deer hunting last yr.
If I buck out in early bow might set some steel and try for the little demon.

For anyone who wants to watch, I've learned a ton from this guy. He hasn't posted in awhile but he posted a new video yesterday. He's easy to listen to and he's got some good critter footage here.

I can tell you from experience, those wild boars are fast fuckers.
had a couple of big fuckers chase my Jeep GC when I was working in south TX, after that I carried because I'd have to get out and walk around checking on stuff.

I saw a couple of dead wild boars next to the road on this most recent drive from Texas to Arizona. Plenty of squished coyotes too. If Texas was not mostly private land, then there would be thousands of people out every day for recreational shooting of boars.

Sounds like land owners need to get out there then.

there are outfits that all they do is hunt wild boars for landowners that still live on their land, they breed fast and are destructive as hell.

Many of the landowners are wealthy from their oil leases and live elsewhere, they don't give a shit unless the checks stop.

I recall one in particular that had checks of $100,000+/month uncashed for over a year, the company reached out to the landowner's lawyer because they could not contact the owners. Turns out they were living out of the US and the lawyers' response was keep sending the checks, they'll cash them eventually.

They were one of the few lucky ones that had thousands of generational acres and all of it was producing.
