Cooper vs Nitto

Just called America’s Tire. They will let me purchase certs even tho I officially purchased in February . $37 a piece . 185 total which is about 70 percent of the price of 1 replacement tire . Covers everything except theft, vandalism, and car accident

Is it worth it ? 🧐

Given all the reported sidewall failures, I would say so! [emoji23][emoji38]

18 years ago I had 3 flats at the same time on brand new stock tires (BFG Longtrails) in July in Death Valley out by the racetrack. No road hazard warranty. After that I upgraded to KO2s and bought certs at Americas Tire. I never had a flat on that truck again in 4 sets of tires all with certs - so AT made some money off of me. Would I get certs again? Probably, never got a flat on a tire with a cert.

When I bought my Nitto 40s from Discount Tire Direct I did not buy the certs. About 7 months after I got them I damaged a tire wheeling because I didn’t clearance the pinch seems enough. I called Discount Tire Direct and asked if they could match the price for which I had originally had bought them for as the price had gone up. He said they couldn’t but he could sell me the certs for that tire, and the other 4 tires, replace the damaged tire under the original cert and send me a new one and sell me a certs for the new tire, so 6 certs, which was still less than what the new tire would have cost if he would have priced matched what I had originally bought them for. I have replaced two additional tires since them and bought new certs for them as well. Well under $400 for three replacement 40” Nitto Trail Grapplers. I think it’s been worth it.

EDIT: I have also been honest all three times and have told them that they were damaged wheeling... sliced, chunked, sliced. No sidewalk failures

That’s good to hear about them.

Having Nitto Trail Grapplers on one jeep and Cooper STT pros on the other, I can honestly say that both are great in the offroad arena. On pavement, the Coopers are louder than the Nitto TG, but that's why we have the ability of turning up the volume on our stereos.
No matter which way you go you're going to get a great tire.

Stt pros

Pulled the trigger on the STT PROS! Matt from Discount Tires Direct hooked me up with a great deal! I'll post up some wheel and tire porn when I get them on, for now I guess I can trim my rubi rails while I wait.

I always get the hazard certs just in case of this.... just put these new Nitto T-G (37x12.5) on at the end of Nov. and found this after Moab at the San Rafael Swell airing up on the last day.... Took it to Discount yesterday and as soon as the salesman walked up to it and saw it, 'he said you'll need a new one, not repairable.' For a 365 dollar tire for only the 65 dollar certificate cost. Works for me !
