clutch problem

When i barely touch the clutch i can feel a lot of movement and the sound gets worse. Almost 1000 miles after the clucth, pressure plate, TOB and slave cylinder replacement. At fists it was extremely quiet but now it sounds like a diesel!!!!

Sounds like throw out bearing get a Timken. Less than $40 on Amazon. It is designed differently. The opening is on the shaft side instead of clutch side to help keep trash out and extend life also no plastic...

Unfortunately I have to bring this thread back to life. After 4 months today my clutch pedal suddenly has difficulty to disengage and engage back. I mean it feels like that sometimes the pedal doesn't react with the clutch, if you let the pedal and push again it works. This happens with random sequence. Just before I bring the jeep back to the garage I had the clutch pedal pushed down and it suddenly disengaged without letting the pedal off. It feels like there is some problem in the power system and not the mechanical part of the clutch. No leaks of brake fluid are visible. Any held would be appreciated!

Note: Just to remind 4 months ago my slave cylinder died and because I had brake fluid inside the clutch I replaced the clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing and got a new slave cylinder. My system got bled and it has been working fine for 4 months now except the throw out bearing sounding terrible.

It is a sachs clutch, pressure plate, bearing. The slave cylinder (which I think is the problem) is mopar.

Sure sounds like a slave cylinder issue. Unfortunately if the slave rod gets pushed to the side accidentally when installing (happens pretty easy) if can damage the seals and cause a premature failure.

After going back and reading again, I think they are probably right. So when it doesn't get full pressure you can pump the pedal and it will release? If fluid level is good then it sounds as if the master cylinder is bypassing. You might actually be able to see brake fluid coming from the master cylinder boot that covers the push rod by your pedal.

I didn't notice any leaks from the master cylinder but I got the jeep to the shop today and replaced the master cylinder which solved the problem. We bled the system and my clutch now feels as good as new.:wings: The next jeep I buy will be auto for sure.

Oo don't let that discourage you from driving a standard! I'm glad you resolved your issue, but auto tranny's have just as many (if not more) problems as standards!
