Hey fellow jeepers!
I'm Dan and have been lingering for a month or so and it's overdue to introduce myself. I have a 2007 2 Door Rubicon that I bought new when the JK first came out. Spent a few years on the other forum back then which helped me build it up. Old screen name was jeepbozo. I must have been drunk or something when I picked that name, but now almost a decade wiser I joined wayalife and went simple with GoldenJK.
This is my second jeep, first one was a 1977 CJ5 that I sold long ago. I was getting ready to trade the 2007 in for a new 4 door but couldn't do it. I like my 2 door and a new one is missing the trail scars and are way too cushy inside. So I'm going to keep it but it's time for a refresh (and I saved $$$ not buying a new one). Plan is to trade out the budget boost for an EVO enforcer lift with a few JKS add ons. Get rid of the shock absorber extensions and put some King 2.5s on. Time for some new rubber and real beadlocks, new drive shafts, bearings, ball joints, gussets, maybe MCE fenders, and some more underbody skids. That should keep me busy for a few weekends.
My JK has all sorts of mods done to it that I'll post someday. Rebuilt the small storage tub in the rear deck so it's big enough to actually store stuff, modified a blue ox tow bar so I can flat tow the jeep. The entire thing is hidden behind the front bumper. Installed a vacuum assist brake system so the jeep's power brakes help brake it when its being towed, and currently building a ski rack for the back of the jeep. I'll post a few pics when I finish that and the new lift is on.
Looking forward to getting some great advice and hope I can share a few opinions along the way.
