Checking bolts

How often do y'all check bolts for proper tightness? I've been doing it about once every other month. Some months everything is okay; sometimes I find something got a little loose. It's never the same thing generally, but is checking this often fairly normal? We don't off-road a ton, but I definitely check everything before and after our trips.

It's good that you check them that often. A lot of people don't. I try to check mine after every wheeling trip, and sometimes before a trip. I also check them when I notice it feels different while driving it on the road.
 
I have all the bolts marked so I can do a quick lookover once a month but I'll check everything with a torque wrench before and after each trip.
 
I do a safety check as-well, and check my bolts before and after on go on the trails and i mark them with a pen so i know if they moved or not.
 
Thanks guys. I think I'll try the pen (prolly use nail polish) trick just to speed the process up a bit
