Carbon Nanotube Tires

Now, I know that airless tires have been around longer than there have been tires with air in them and, I know there have even been some recent good attempt to make them better. However, this is the first time i've seen an airless tire that's completely hollow and made out of a futuristic material known as carbon nanotubes. Click on the video below to see it in action...

Sure, this is just on a mountain bike but, it sure gets me thinking about what can be done on a larger scale with a bit more development. Certainly, it looks more promising to me than some of the near solid tire design I've seen.

This was put out earlier this year and as you can see, the tires are more of a honeycomb design. I just don't know how well something like this would work for rock crawling...

The nanotube bike version is hollow and more tire like and I can only imagine that it would provide better sidewall traction.
