It's over. This story explains why the beautiful state of California will NEVER be out of debt, and will never regain it's sense of the "American Dream" and self reliance. There are so many things in this story that just make me cringe. It's sad, but it is truly over.

That's pathetic. Giving into all the cry babies "I need to get stoned, but don't work and can't get a real job because I'm too high so the government needs to babysit me".

I'm sure they will get both. Someone has to take care of all the people that refuse to work and provide for themselves and 5 kids.. Duh
 
The sky falling much OP??? ;) It's one city.....and it's Berkeley. :thinking::cheesy: The city is likely making a killing off of tax revenue from pot sales. The dispensaries are on the hook for the 2%, not the state. We have enough issues in CA, don't think this will be the straw that breaks the camels back.

It's not going to be the straw that breaks the camel's back financially. You sir, are correct.

It is however one more thing to add to the pile that has been hiding the moral camel whose back was broken long ago.

You cant expect people who cannot afford food to be able to afford their "medicinal" weed too. If they had to spend their money on things like weed and food, how could they afford their cell phone, designer clothes and 26" rims....
 
You realize what's going to happen right? I'm sure there's no quality control on the medical marijuana that is to be distributed for free so chances are it's going to be the dirtiest, nastiest and cheapest weed they can find. Top shelf comes at a cost but that brick stuff from over the border and the product from grow rooms that went horribly wrong will be free.

I'm afraid this is going to be in more states soon and not just California... wait and see! it will be just like welfare & food stamps, the bunches will expect US to feed their need!

Now where is that 800' deep mine cave at???? ;)
