Bump stop issues

Just measure from the top of the bump stop extension all the way up to the bottom of the yellow jounce stop cup. Technically, at a full and really hard bump, that's about where you'd be at. Compare that number to the amount of shock shaft that's showing.
Well today I'm putting in some energy upper bump stops front and rear. They are made of a stiffer material I think than stock. I'm also doing the Synergy front lower 4" bumps, I think I'll be good on shock bottoming out now. Now just have to find the time to put in the spod, 50" led,22" led and other lights. It never ends....😊

Well I swapped out my bump stops from 3" to 4" and put in new uppers. The uppers are very stiff and not sure if I'm gonna keep them on....maybe they will break in but I don't think they will. Here a couple pics. What's the concensus on Energy upper bumps? 1477251914966.jpg1477251920760.jpg

Man that doesn't look like much uptravel on your shocks. How much of the shaft is showing? I mean just the chrome shaft? I just went and measured mine and I've got 4-1/2" showing.

I wouldn't worry about the amount of shock up travel. What you need to really worry about is the coil going "solid". You want to run +/- 1/2" of bump stop to the advertised lift height. So if you have a 3" lift kit then you want 2.5"-3.5" of bump stop. Just have to flex it out to check

Agreed, but I was comparing his travel to mine as we have the exact same setup and he's saying his shocks are bottoming out. I definitely don't have that issue. Comparing the amount of shock shaft showing I can see he has considerably less. I'm still wondering if he has the correct shocks in the front....

Ah ok got it now. I didn't go back far enough to see that.

Ddays, are you running the:
PN Compressed Extended
985-24-011 16.70000 28.30000
985-24-012 16.85000 28.45000

High lift jack with a wheel hook,a rock or a ditch works too

If your not living and having fun, your dead already

Oh man....I don't remember the part numbers. Let me try to look them up when I get home this evening & I'll post up....

Don't go to any trouble... I'm pretty sure those part numbers are what they sell as the 4"-6" lift. Edit: I asked before doing my own research:doh:

Ok so I'm running different shocks. Mine are 985-26-011 front & 985-26-012 rears. Where did you say you got yours? I bought mine from Northridge last September..

If I am not mistaken the difference between your shocks and his are. One has the adjustable knob and one does not.
985-26-011 being the adjustable

Ok, that makes sense - I didn't look the P/N's up. Still, with identical kits mine appears to be sitting at least an inch higher than his. I hope he updates here- I'm curious to see what the measurement is on his exposed shaft length.
