Building '13 BrightWhite JKU

Well seeing as I'm going to make my way out west next month, it has come time to re-gear. My 37s on 3:21 has been dumb. I obviously can't take the jk out west like that. I bought 5:13 gears and a new front carrier. I will be changing the gears the next few days I have off. I'm sure I will be more then pleased with the 5:13s and can't wait. So I am making a trip out west to tomorrow. Thought I would share some small projects I have completed prior to my departure. Lol I had a piece of 2x4 1/4 steel tube laying around. I have not hap any read bump stops to I made some. A really basic setup but they turned out good. I also found time to weld on my front control arm skids. ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1463947386.117618.jpgImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1463947404.041798.jpg

I also was concerned about coming straight of any ledges and grabbing my rear tire on a rock. I threw together a little something to help minimize the risk. I used 1 1/2 inch tube stock and modified my clevis hitch. I also revamped my tire support. I will post more pictures later of it installed. Waiting on the black epoxy paint to dry.

Looks good! Your welds look great and I'm envious! I'm a better grinder, so it seems. [emoji17]

Just curious if you ran some beads down the sides of the LCA skids? I haven't hit mine since install, but I did weld all three seams.

Thanks man. My welding is getting better and better. I welded the insides of the lower skids. I liked the clean look not welding the outsides.

Nice! It is clean looking for sure. At the time I did mine all I had was flux core mig. That would have sucked trying to get all the spatter out. Anyway, enjoy your trip! (Where ya going???)

I'm going to Prescott Arizona going to make some stops along the way. A true get away trip. Lol

Spotted you a few weeks ago on 120 near Hainseville Rd. Jeep is looking great, nice addition with the Wayalife windshield decal.

I've been looking for a hitch attachment like that for months! Nice work on fabbing it up from scratch!
