Books, what are you reading?

Great thread!
been looking for some new reading, have to admit I miss having a Barnes and Noble nearby to scan books, I like to sift through the chapters and get a good idea whether it gets interesting or is slow throughout.

Last reads were
The Three-Body Problem series
Arthur the King
Eat your Age
The Coddling of the American Mind

Like Highway Trout I have piles of books on my dresser. I love to read and will usually read a couple of books at the same time. I try to read an informative or educational book and a recreational or entertainment book in tandem.

Some of the books I’ve read over the last few months. (Not my pictures)

Lots of information, almost too much. A buddy of mine who is deeply invested in the JFK assassination conspiracy recommended this. My buddy is a subject matter expert and speaks at related events, he tells me this is the definitive book on the subject.

I read this many years ago and just re-read it. JC Pollock was once ‘The Guy’ for realistic fiction books relating to Special Forces. He definitely had inside connections because the details are spot on concerning weapons, doctrine, tactics, and even naming the popular SF bars and clubs at Fort Bragg in the 1980’s. I’m not sure if he is still around but his books are realistic and entertaining. It’s 1980’s era so it is probably not as ‘cool’ or flashy as the stuff written now.

Great info if you are into stocks. Charles breaks it down for the regular person. I have made some good money thanks to him.

Cool book. Very entertaining and if you buy it you’ll probably end up on a ‘list’ but you are probably already on it. 🤣

Some of it is psychological mumbo-jumbo but it also contains useful info which can help you to understand the human animal.

Written by a friend of mine. If you like Zombie based post apocalyptic tales this one is a good read. Any similarities between members of this forum and characters or names used in this book are purely coincidental.

I need to pick up some books. I love reading but I’ve gotten out of the habit.

The same happened to me and I am extremely happy to be back to reading.

In this age of digital over stimulation reading a book is extremely beneficial. Many biohackers claim you should eliminate screen time prior to going to sleep. I find that reading a book before bedtime really helps me sleep better.

This is so true. Shut off the TeeVee and put down the phone and tablet and sit and read. Makes a huge difference. Been tracking my sleep for years and this was the biggest improvement besides eliminating (ahem) alcohol.

I believe book has nothing to do with your sleep!!!!
Can prove it !!

Gonna have to add that JFK book.

IMHO, this may be the best 2 book combo written. Clancy nailed it. If interested. do not peek at the synopsis of Executive Orders because it will tarnish you reading through to the end of Debt of Honor. It's so badass how it works out and if you're an idealistic romantic and want good to win over evil and the bad guys to get fucked over royally, this is for you.
