Black Hill South Dakota Trip

I'm planning a trip to South Dakota this summer. We will be staying at the Palmer Gulch resort KOA for a week. So far, we know we want to do the obligatory Mount Rushmore visit and explore Custer State Park. Other than that, we will just be exploring.
If anyone is familiar with the area, please feel free to suggest other sights to see or any good trails.

Plenty to see I haven’t been back in years. The black hills and surrounding area are beautiful.

Definitely hit Bear Country, it's a drive-thru wildlife park just outside of Rapid City. Took the family there a few years ago and we all loved it.

Several large black bears walked within 10 feet of my truck as we drove through, the brown bears of course are behind barriers.

Don’t miss Needles Highway.

Deadwood is cool. Downtown Rapid City is fun and as @JHaus mentioned Bear Country is a good time.

It’s a nice area and there is plenty to do.
