Nice emblem, you can find mopar ones on eBay for like $25, that’s where I got mine.

Finally found some stock fenders and was able to pull off my flat fenders. Painted them black and tinted the side marker. While I was changing them out I decided to do the blinker mod. Like this look better for my jeep. I thought about cutting them a little bit but I don't think I'm going to, I have to admit I really love this look.

It does great when I use it. I had to play with the location to get the best signal but it comes in pretty clear. I find it best around the center of the windshield at the bottom. Still very happy with the decision and would definitely do it again.

I used the jks kit which came with a light, simple to splice it into the harness. Have had no issues with it yet. I can't remember the exact wire but there should be some instructions on the web. Very pleased with it.

Installed my Rockville 10 inch powered sub-woofer. Very impressed with the quality from the outside as it looks solid and well made. I love that it comes with hardware so I was able to install it to my tailgate without issues and I love the control knob. I wanted to try a cheaper option without having to buy a big speaker box and adding an amp and besides I didn't want a lot of bass. This really filled the bill as it fills in what's been missing in my current system. Turned all the way up it actually does offer quite a bit of bass and just a bit too much for what I want so I'm pretty impressed with the initial impressions on this unit even though I've never heard of these guys.

Finally found a Warn 8274. Now begins the long process of restoring and rebuilding her. I'll be servicing the lower housing and brake assembly with Warn's kits and upgrading the motor to the 4.6 if the this one isn't working.I also found a company who makes an aluminum housing that I'll be replacing the original plastic one with. I'll also be modding it by adding drain and fill plugs and zerk fittings. There is a local fab shop working on a new bumper which will be able to fit the beast in a recessed position. Going to have some fun with this one!

The disassembly has begun, loaded with cans of pb blaster! So I emailed warn since the serial numbers are intact and found out that this winch was produced in 1983 so I've got an old baby. I love vintage. I do fear that I'll have to end up replacing more parts due to excessive wear if they haven't been properly cared for.
It looks like they kept the original plastic housing cover and modded in a different remote with 6 pins. I'll be replacing this with an aluminum aftermarket piece. It looks like the sollenoids are in okay condition and I may keep them if functional but will eventually upgrade to the albright contractor.
The motor housing is pretty rusted and I can't make out which model it is right now but I'm going to assume it's original which would make it a 2.5hp. More than likely I'm going to upgrade this to either the 4.6hp or 6hp.
It appears the clutch handle is missing and will need to be replaced.
Drum is free of the old winch cable. I'll be adding dyneema rope instead of using cable going forward.
Upper housing is free, clutch is pretty rusted but the gears look amazingly good.
Lower housing was dry with a little bit of thick smudge but I could move everything by hand freely.
I have met my match, hardest part to remove so far is the brake assembly. I didn't have access to a puller but I did have some metal c clamps lying around. I attached them and hammered them out.
So much rust, I'll see what kind of condition everything is in after I start cleaning.
Everything is out, next process will be a deep clean. I'll then drill and tap the main shaft for the brake assembly to prevent accidentally dislodgement of the shaft from the circlip. I'll going to add a fill and drain to the housing for easier oil servicing. I'm also going to add some zerk fittings on the end plate of the drum. To prevent accidently free spooling, I'll be drilling and tapping the clutch. Lastly I'll be painting the surfaces and replacing the decals on the housings.

Finally got around to fixing my transmission leak. Definitely was the seal, I didn't take any pictures but it was missing in several places. First time doing this and boy what a mess it made. Good thing I had some absorbent pads laying around, pretty much was able to soak most of it up. Has anyone ever tried adding in a drain plug to these pans? I also noticed perhaps a small leak at the front axle pinion. I don't know if this is normal or not but I can wipe off just a smidgen of oil from around back of the differential.

This restoration is going to be a labor of love I can see. So far I've been able to clean up a few pieces and I've had a time taking everything apart, rust has taken over quite a many of places. Nothing a couple days of vinegar baths and pb blaster won't solve.
Brake assembly cleaned up, everything looks pretty good and I'll be ordering the service kit soon to update some key pieces.
Gears in the lower housing cleaned up well. No rust and the teeth are in great shape.
The clutch gave me a little bit of an issue due to it being frozen, seems to be a common issue. Couple nights of pb blaster, couple vinegar baths and a couple taps of the hammer set it free. It's missing the knob so I'll have to replace that and I'll be adding a fill plug here instead of drilling into the upper housing.
The lower housing bushing and seals look to be in great condition so I'll be reusing these.
Looks like the wiring is shot due to rust so I'm going to reorder more to attach to the battery and motor.

So after working hard on getting rid of the rust on the winch parts I've struggled on getting in the hard to reach places and figured there had to be a better way in lieu of wire brushes. Luckily a local jeep guy helped me out and media blasted everything for me for free. Love the Jeep community, full of helpful generous people no matter where you live. I still have to work on the hardware and motor housing but the major pieces are done.
