Big wave in San Diego

Just kidding, our waves are small and I heard there were sharks

Hey guys, been lurking around here for a little while trying to learn as much as I can. Been going back and forth for like a week about which gears to put in my 2012 JK Unlimited Sport and a few posts here have really helped clear some things up and I think I'm ready to'/ make a decision. Thought I would join up and give a wave and a big thanks for the wealth of knowledge that you guys have already shared and will undoubtedly share in the future! I've had the Jeep for a couple years now but I'm still fairly new to wheeling it as I've mostly stuck to fire roads, BLM trails and a couple short trips Ocotillo Wells. My wife and I have had a blast just going out and exploring but I've never gone on a serious wheeling trip with a group or anything. Got the Jeep originally to take me to all of my other destinations, hiking, camping, shooting etc (I can't catch a fish to save my life so no fishing.. LOL) and it didn't take long for me to catch the bug. Anyways, looking forward to learning as much as I can and I appreciate what you guys do here.

Welcome to WAL from Ohio! Take your time on regearing. If you aren't changing your D30, make sure you don't over do the ratio. Planning now will save money. Ask me how I know!

I was originally planning to save for a Pr44 but I'must still a long way off from having those kind of funds. I've had 35s on stock 3.73s for quite a while and have been trying to be patient but the funds just aren't coming soon enough and this thing really struggles to climb the hills. I planned on 4.88s and gussets from off road evolution for now and then when my budget opens up a little (when I pay off the jeep) I can look at a better front axle. This is still my daily driver for now and most of my commute is "up and down the hill". I routinely hit 3.5k-4k up the hill just struggling to do 45mph.

Think I'm making the right choice?

To be straightforward...save your $$ for the PR44. It'll be a waste putting your $$ into something you're bound to change out if you're truly hittin' the trails.
