Ball joint press for ProSteers?

For what you're doing, it should be fine. If a little seeps in, I doubt it will cause an issue. You may be able to use a small punch and try hitting it sideways to start to turn it counter clockwise. Once it starts to turn, I bet you can use a pick or something and pull it out.

Soak it in PB blaster for a few hours first. Then either grind a slit in it and try to use a screwdriver or drill a hole a little ways into it and use an easy out. Try not to drill all the way through so you don't get debris inside the hub. The broken piece is plastic correct?

If I remember it has an o ring on it so I think the screw idea may work, idk? Heat a screw up real hot and melt it into it then pull it out after it cools possibly. Lube the new ones up

Did you grease the ProSteers after install. It doesn't really stay in the instruction to grease them before use. Are they greased and ready to go?

Dynatrac told me that it wasn't necessary, but that it wouldn't hurt. I'm OCD so I did it anyways. For the bottom one, you'll need a special needle if you don't already have it.

Yea I'll probably give a pump in each fitting. I have a grease gun ready and also have the needle adapter.
I'm OCD as well lol

Thanks

Any one remember how the angled press cup should be face when installing pro steers?

Sent from my iPhone using WAYALIFE mobile app

When you are installing the uppers, you'll notice when you put the press on that it will try to press the joint into the C crooked. At the outer part of the underside of the C there will be a gap. That's where the tallest part of the angled adapter should be to make up for that clearance. Do not press it in crooked or you will have to start over. In the picture below, the green circle is where the tallest part of the adapter needs to be. You'll notice that the red and blue lines are not parallel, this is why the press tries to cock sideways while you're installing the upper joint.

I got the driver side done. After pressing out the old one, I realized that I didn’t have any thing to clean out the c. So I hope in my car and the battery was dead. I took the battery over to auto zone and got a replacement, while putting the new battery in, I dropped a wrench in the engine bay and couldn’t find it. Tried to start the car and it wouldn’t turn over. Very frustrating day!

Best Grease

Don't want to start a shit storm like always seems to happen on discussion of preferred engine oils, but is there a recommended (preferred) grease to use? Are synthetic greases better or worse than dino greases?
