I love that they put the oil filter on the top! I don't know if this is typical for Jeeps or not, but I'm really happy i don't have to lay under the oil filter anymore as I'm loosening it haha :cheesy: however Jeep just sent me a voucher in the mail for a free oil change, so i do believe I'll let the Dodge house handle my first one 
On another note, I noticed in the maintanance schedule, it says to change your oil every 8,000 miles....:thinking: I've seen what oil begins to look like after 3,000.. I believe I'm going to stick to changing it every 3,000 unless someone can tell me that I'm actually hurting my engine..

Your not going to cause any harm to your engine changing your oil sooner. They have extended the mileage on oil changes because of the makeup oil has now days versus years ago. But if you are doing a lot of offroading and run your engine hot often I would stick to a 3-4000 change.
