ARB storage drawer in JKUR - anyone running it?

Hi,

I have my 2016 JKUR being built right now, and after doing some searching here i can't find any posts about folks who are running the ARB storage system?

http://store.arbusa.com/Jeep-Wrangl...r-wRoller-Floor-System-5012020-P22822C75.aspx

I'm going to go this route as i will be hauling my dogs with me a lot of the time (70 pound Weimaraner and 100 pound Rhodesian), and can't have gear loose in the trunk area. I'm about 90% sure that i will either pull the rear seats out altogether, or at a bare minimum run them folded 99.999% of the time.

Does anyone else use this system in the following way:

-with hard top
-with rear seats in
-with dogs

If so, any feedback before i get it installed? One consideration i'm noodling on is whether to pull the factory carpet out underneath it prior to mounting?

TIA for any / all feedback
D

I'm running this in my 2014 JKU. I love it, had a hard top but now run a soft top, and I had my rear seats in when I installed it but since have removed them. I've put a Arb fridge on it, the largest they make, with the only issue being you can't fully open the lid because of the roll bar. It's stout, I'm pushing about 240 lbs and have sat and stood on it. The drawers open smoothly, plenty of room, and the top slides out also. I left my carpet in.

Another option would be the GCP-1 from Grenadeacorp. It mounts up on the roll bar and locks your stuff up there. I have a drawer system in my Jeep right now and when I put my German shepherd in there, she's touching the roof.

Cool, thanks for the input.

Did you pull the rear seats for my storage space reasons or something else?

Sorry, i should have been clear this is already ordered and OTW so i can't change directions right now.

Thanks for suggestion!

What drawer system are you using?

Man! Those are both GREAT dogs!

I wish I had the space for extra storage... But with 2- mastiffs weighing in @ 150 & 165lbs. there size alone is hard to get in and out at the rear height and fitting both is very tight... I'd love the storage system too but it wouldn't work out...

Thanks, we think so, but we MIGHT be biased.. We are empty nesters, so they go everywhere with us.

Okay, I'll hijack this thread for a moment. I have a mix, she's a Doberman / Dachshund mix... so a 50 lb dog that looks like a giant Dachshund from the neck up and a small Doberman from the neck down and is all red. Her dad was one very bad-a## Dachshund... hahahaha

She's with me pretty much all the time other than work.

all good, no hijacking whatsoever. half (maybe more) of the reason i got this system was so one dog can stand on top, and the other can be in the back seat area!

.....A Dachshund banging a Doberman. Glad to hear it worked out. Didn't sound like that would end well.

i looked at that one too, it was almost 4x the cost of ARB. i assume you are transporting guns and might be military or LEO?

I must not be looking at the same stuff? The ARB is like $1322.00 and I priced out a truckvault to something like $575?

No, just right place at the right time at a Goverment surpluse auction. It took a little customization to make it fit in the back of the JK but it's nice.

the truck vault extreme was over $4k and i got the ARB for closer to $1k. granted the TV had a lot of cool shit (lights, electrical, and some blinged out powdercoat) but not worth 4x..

that makes more sense, no one had them locally here and each one is custom made
