Agreed. Other than the usuals 4WP and Quadratec, anyone have any suggestions on a good place for CJ parts? This is a totally foreign world for me.

Depending on what you are looking for, I buy a lot off of eBay, especially for NOS stock items. For good reproduction parts Omix ADA has the most parts. You can go on their website and get the part number and search web for the best price.

My first Jeep was a '82 CJ7. Great Jeep. I built it pretty good, dropping in an Edelbrock head/intake Ford 5.0HO and WC T-5 tranny, currie 9" rear. In the end I should have saved the money and just fuel injected the 4.0, it was fine. But I was young and dumb and wanted a V8. Dang thing would change lanes shifting at redline.

I licensed my 86 as a historic vehicle so I didn't have to smog. Honestly I'm not sure it would have passed if it was right off the showroom floor. I thing some states just require you to have all the factory emissions equipment but even that would suck because those final years of carburetors had all sorts of emissions crap slapped on them.
Thanks! Failed smog, miserably! Lol. Got some work to do.

Well, it’s been about 6 months but I’ve finally got it just about finished up, as best as I can anyway. Unfortunately, I can’t keep it due to a death in our extended family so if anyone is interested I’ll be posting it in the for sale forum. Long list of upgrades, most of which I did or at least helped with. Had so much fun doing it and I’ve really become attached to it and really don’t want to sell it. 02A94C02-51CD-4781-91C2-7374498ACC30.jpeg
