And just for the hell of it, I also pick up 1\8 scale Motorcycle models from the 60's and 70's.. I'm reliving my youth. :)

Im building a tiny Jeep

I'm hijacking this thread, instead of wasting space on a new thread. It seems the owner has fled town or don't care anymore, so I'm planting my flag... :D

I'm going to try to build a similar replica of my 2014 JKU. I am in the process of saving my funds for my 1:1 Jeep, and I have plenty of left over parts to build a mini me of my jeep.

I hope to be able to partially duplicate what I do to this little jeep on my real jeep at some point down the road.

First, I have to have axles, I stole these from a 75 Blazer.

And then I needed a frame, so I robbed that from a Toyota.

Also, a transfer case is needed, shocks, and somewhere to bolt up the links. The only thing new on this build is the links and the steel drive shafts.

I made the shock towers from some scrap aluminum

That's where the chassis sits for now

Now for the body

There is the Rescue green one

Or I might just use this one, just modify it a little bit.

I have other jeeps to build, someday

This was going to be a duplicate of my 2 door, but I had to get rid of it, so now I have to think of something else to build with it.

And then there is the YJ

To be continued..

I want a Axial JK so bad but my money is going to my new real jk!

I completely understand that, and I'm working on that now. I've already gone through the vendors on here and I am making a shopping list for my JKU, but until then, I have enough parts and junk on hand to build these last little Jeeps without spending much more money, plus it keeps me out of trouble, mostly.. :D

Its taken me a long time to get to this point. Illinois has one big rock about every 30 miles or so, but its mostly this stuff, so I hope to get out west with my Jeep one of these days.

I could go get muddy every weekend, but that gets old.

This thread is actually pretty cool to go through. Makes me want to break out my RC's from storage and mess around with them again

I love all RC stuff! I made my own 1/5th scale 7hp desert/monster truck. It's a collection of Traxxas and Losi parts. I'm thinking about building a 1/5th scale Jeep JK from scratch next. But first I gotta build up my full-scale JK. So... Many... Toys....ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1433557020.083414.jpgImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1433557156.972331.jpg
Built to withstand the Castle 1717 motor and the Nevada desert.

Hey guys, cool to see a few of you interested. :)

I feel the need to say you might want keep the product names out of the forum posts, please and Thank you. :) No malice in my words, just for your own knowledge, even though they are RC's.

Anyway, I am RC addict, that tried to go cold turkey, but it didn't work. I've not bought anything in quite awhile, but I still have some unfinished, and mostly want a replica of my Jeep. Oh yeah, another excuse...:D I have 2 grandsons, 8 and 10.. they love it and my JKU.

My cash flow is now intended for the JKUW

This is my mess, for now.

Yea, I hope I don't ever get tired of playing around with rc's. It's so much fun building them up and then finding the next weakness or modification to be made. Does any of this seem familiar? Just seems natural I wind up driving a jeep that I can modify anything and everything on. A full-scale toy I can drive!!! That old saying holds true. The difference between men and boys is the price of their toys! 😎😎😎

Hi JeepJeep, Its basically all the same, just as you said, and I want to say "Thank You" for understanding. :) I really went overboard, but I had my reasons. I have been into RC since 1988, just not as silly as the last 5 years have been, but , I won't go there, boring story.

I have always liked Jeeps, anything that's a wrangler or wrangler style and the old FC's and the newer ones they were trying out a few years ago, and the older Cherokee's...yap, yap, yap. :)

If you have maybe 5 minutes of your life that you don't mind wasting, and you're really bored.

I made these for myself, grandkids, and some other RC enthusiasts.

.

Why would they have to keep product names off of forum posts?

Hi OverlanderJK, I was kinda going by your post on page 17. I always try to go through a thread I dig up to see what was said and the mood before I just throw it out there.

My 1st forum experience about 5 years ago was quite a learning experience.

What post number? I'm on mobile so the pages are different.

I took one my CrewCabs to the Grand Canyon and Yellowstone, and crawled, sort of... :)

Not as exciting as real, but something else to do or watch.
