Anyone have any tricks to tighten a rear bumper bolt, that connects the metal bumper bracket to the plastic section of the bumper.

The bolt tightened about 90% of the way and now the insert in the plastic bumper is spinning :(

You're kinda fucked on a bumper. The good thing is, I doubt you need that bolt to be tight.

You could cut a hole in the bottom of the bumper and get a pair of pliers in there to hold it.

Just take it off and get the Evo fascia, it's a hallow plastic

Thanks, been out there messing with it. Got the bolt out and was able to heat up the threaded nut (threaded on outside of nut)and carefully popped it out.

Put threaded nut in vise and using wd40 carefully tighten bolt in to nut, working it back and forth till moved freely.

Then once plastic cooled
around hole reinserted threaded nut, which believe it or not screwed in secure. Othewise I was going to gorilla glue it in.Then re- installed bracket and bolts. All tightened up nicely and holding firm :) :) :)

Simple 30 minute install fpr tow hook, took 6 hours to figure out and fix one bolt :( :(
