4wd on trails, as needed or full time?

I agree on the gears, I just went from 3.21 to 4.56, made my first trip out this past weekend with the new gears and noticed a huge difference in 4lo, was having to run in 2nd or 3rd just about everywhere I went so the rpms weren't so high, and I don't even have a Rubicon.
I guess it depends on how you're geared. I usually run in 4H as soon as I hit dirt and only use 4L for crawling rocks or really steep hill climbs.

The Rubi t-case with 5.13 gears is really low. 1st in 4L is only good up to around 3-5MPH and 4th till about 20 and that's pushing it. If I stay in 4L between obstacles, I'm usually locked in 3rd and stay out of D to avoid 1st altogether.

I usually stay in 2hi as long as I can. As soon as I get to rocks, 4low.....

AZ, UT, CO, CA..... almost entirely rocks. I hate mud. :bleh:
