Isn’t gap insurance primarily to make sure the bank gets paid off?

You may be able to get GAP through Progressive or who's financing your loan. It's not much per month.

And yes, it's to make sure if you owe more than vehicle is worth and vehicle gets totaled, bank loan gets paid off.

Exactly, we have it but they keep asking for “one more” document instead of asking for everything up front. Now it’s going to be 3 weeks for them to review it.
