33 Offroad Tires Tested

The rating scale is cryptic at best. Not the highest quality reviews by a long shot, just mainly tell you which models/brands suck.

Anyone else know of any other articles that compare AT or MT tires? If so, could you share the link? I'm starting my tire research and am curious....

There honestly is no point of comparing an MT to a AT....they both have their place and one isn't truly a substitute for the other. The general consensus from Jeepers is that the Duratracs are the best jack-of-all-trade AT, and the Nitto Trail Grapplers are the best MTs.

My duratracs are a damn lifesaver up here in Massachusetts and the snowy winters. I would recommend them all day long for street use, winter, snow/ice, muddin, wheelin... But make no mistake, it's not a Nitto Mud or Toyo Mud. It's a damn good AT and it'll do it's best in whatever clime and place you put it. Like NFR says, no sense comparing apples to oranges though.

I have yet to be "stopped in my tracks" so to speak with duratracs....mud, snow, rock, sand, gravel, tarmac, slurry (sand mixed with water,) ice, wet grass, etc. They have monstered through everything I have put them through, I had the 33x12.50x15" C rated (which Im told have weak sidewalls although I didn't have any issues on some sharp stuff) and now have 315/75/16 E rated on my current JKUR, which again, have been stellar. Yes the Nittos are much tougher thanks to them being made of granite, lead, and beef, but Im out east, and for out here, the duratracs just make more sense for me.
