2015 Tank JK Build (In Progress)

Hey so I'm new to the Wayalife forum so I figured what better way to introduce myself than by doing a build thread and telling you guys a little bit about myself. So here goes nothing!

My name is Aidan. I'm 21 years old and live in upstate NY where I work as an EMT for Mobile Life Support Services a 911 Ambulance service that services Ulster, Dutchess, and Orange counties primarily. I'm also a volunteer firefighter in the Port Ewen Fire Department.

My first Jeep was a 95' Rio Grande edition YJ. I then traded up last April to my first brand new Jeep. I got a Tank Green 2015 Jeep Wrangler Sport w/ 6 speed manual transmission. And this is where my build and true Jeep obsession began....



Here she is day one fresh off the lot!

First order of business was add some windshield LED cubes and my emergency response windshield light bar!

Then came the first decal, sorry didn't know about wayalife or JK forum yet...

Out with the 16" wheels and 28" tires and in with the 17" wheels and 33" Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs

Of course I needed to immediately take them out and make sure they worked!

But hey if you're gunna play in the mud you need a plan b right? Bring on the big kid toys. New Barricade HD front and rear bumpers and 9500lbs synthetic rope winch!!

Gotta kick the stance out 3" sounds about right. Rugged Ridge 1.5" wheel spacers.

Out with the old, in with the new
Teraflex sway bar quick disconnects

All installed.

Putting the new upgrades to the test and letting the GF get a feel for off road driving.

But enough with the child's play it was time for a big (and equally expensive...) upgrade!

How about some new a - pillar switches from OTRATTW?

Need more ground clearance on my departure angle though. Solution? MagnaFlow Rock Crawler Exhaust! More clearance and a mean sound!!

Hi-lift jack and hood mounts great for the blown sidewall that you need to change on the trail! (I can laugh now but not then...)

Now what we have here is what happens when you use brake line extension brackets that don't quite clear your rear sway bar -____-

Perfect example of why you need to check all your modifications periodically after installing them!


Solution? Extended stainless steel brake hoses!
