Agree on getting lost and making new friends with locals. Anyway 'gaia' and 'trails offroad' work great for me to search where I want to get lost.

Both, purge valve and evap canister selenoid replaced ... no luck.

UPDATE: Confirmed - its PCM - 05150466AA - which needs to be replaced. Apparently PCM is not sending correct signals to evap purge selenoid and that's generating bunch of 'check engine codes' and 'EVA' trigger is not clearing. I will look for new/refurbished PCM and install myself ... no way...

ECM or PCM? I think that term is used inter-changeable for 'computer box'. I will get to dealership tomorrow to confirm what they are talking about. I wonder if they talk about TIPM, the guy one the phone started to talk about power module, and than about computer ....

One of my jeeps (JK 2007 X) had a problem passing SMOG. Went to dealer and they said that PCM need to be replaced, that power module inside failed. And here is the shocker - they quote $1500 for PCM module and $2300 total with labor. How hard is to replace PCM? (I guess it is pretty simple...

ok, here is the status: - I put bottle of octane boost into 1/3 full tank and run it for a while; - after jeep was able to drive (yes it was that bad) I pulled to nearest gas station and filled with ~3gal of 91 octane gas; - finally it was getting stable and I drove ~50 miles until misfire...

I will try with the octane boost ... assuming I can find it in Escalante ;). Fuel was less than two weeks old in the fuel caddy. And we are with our stock jeep, not ripp'ed. Going for octane boost search right now ... I'll keep you all posted.
