This is true for the DPF system to work the truck needs to work boost pressure and heat is what cleans it. Idling a new diesel and using for groceries and short trips are no good

I tow my fifth wheel with mine and it does fine. Granted it’s not a diesel but I can’t justify the cost of owning diesel for occasional towing.
