I was thinking there has to be an easier way, and it worked suspiciously well. Sent from my SM-G950U using WAYALIFE mobile app

Presses on the axle seal, set the pinion preload and pinion nut torque. Welded on the hydraulic ram clamp feet. This axle is almost done, I think... I used an old bearing out race to press in the new seal. I was getting frustrated trying to tap it in with a hammer. It worked amazingly well...

Got the carrier bearings, inner pinion race and outer pinion bearing pressed in. Torqued bearing caps and ring gear bolts. I'm out of rtv and I don't have a 33mm socket yet. The axle will have to wait to get finished until probably after Christmas. Sent from my SM-G950U using WAYALIFE...

Yeah, you still have to shim the yoke side of the bearing to get that sweet spot of right pinion nut torque and preload. Sent from my SM-G950U using WAYALIFE mobile app

Finally got a contact patch I'm happy with and still kept backlash in tolerance. now to press on the new bearings and set pinion bearing preload and torque the pinion nut. Happy to be almost done with the gears. Sent from my SM-G950U using WAYALIFE mobile app

I'm more motivated since the ship pulled in. You'll have to come over more often. Once I start wiring it I could really use your help. Sent from my SM-G950U using WAYALIFE mobile app

Took a break from the gears to fix the fuel cell mounting holes. Then went back to the gears. They suck getting in and out with the truss there. After taking out almost all the shims. 1 had .007" backlash. Now going to check contact patch. Sent from my SM-G950U using WAYALIFE mobile app

I figured out a way to press on the pinion bearing without a press. Put the setup bearings on with the stock thickness shim pack. It's really tight getting the locker in with the truss. Sent from my SM-G950U using WAYALIFE mobile app

finished sanding the inner race of a pair of setup bearings. Ready to figure out my carrier shims. I'm going to take the pinion to work and press on the bearing with the arbor press there. Sent from my SM-G950U using WAYALIFE mobile app

need to modify the bolt holes on the mount. They don't quite line up. And I'll have to drill new hole in the cell top for the mount. Sent from my SM-G950U using WAYALIFE mobile app
