Thanks. They kinda look like slabs now...haha. Mine actually weren't bent like I suspected. The design of the steel rings just didn't add enough clamping pressure to the thin beads. The tech did say to hammer them back so maybe try that first before buying new rings. It'd save a couple bucks.

Been meaning to snap a pic of an old guy here in town. He drives his rascal with at least a half dozen 10' tall flag poles adorned with Trump flags. He gets all over the high desert. Been doing it for at lease the last 8 years too. I always honk and he just puts his fist in the air.

Well wanted to follow up with everyone. Finally made time to get the new rings installed. Thicker rings with longer bolts. Everything sealed up as normal. The aluminum rings sit flatter against the bead adding more pressure to tighten things up. All is good and no more airing up every day. Plus...

I see my buddy's 7.3l swapped bronco poking out behind it. He built it in 26 days, dropped it off of Jack stands, and drove it 1300 miles (on and off road) to compete in the build challenge.
