    Lockers or Not

The newer JK's come with "Brakelock" which I believe uses the computer to apply braking to the spinning wheel allowing the wheel with traction to get power. It's kinda the same effect as left foot braking when you loose traction but the brake is only applied the the wheel that needs it. It...

    Rock lights

Couple more pics Oh yeah, I have two amber for side marker lights. They fit on the little rail under the fender.

    Rock lights

I have used mine for night runs but I agree they are great for wrenching. I run a ridiculous amount (or so MTG tells me) of led pods from XKGlow.com and love them. They run around $7 a piece or they have a 10 pod kit designed for rock lights for around $50. They are small, bright and come with...

    Good Bye AEV...Hello EVO!

I decided this thread needs more pics. We ran Devils Peak today and did stuff like this. I was there too. ;)

    Hi-lift Size

I would measure it. 33" means you have 16 1/2 " below center. The axle width makes it a little less but you will want some extra for clearance. I would want probably 20" to get a wheel off. Test it on your rig and measure what you can get out of it compared to how much taller the 33" would be...

    Hi-lift Size

When you use a bottle, scissor or floor jack to change a tire you are raising the axle enough to get the tire off the ground. With a HiLift you are lifting the body first and need to extend the suspension fully before the tire comes off the ground. The result is a very unstable vehicle. Most...

Securing winch line for daily driving?

The one issue with leaving the line out if it is synthetic is you are exposing that section of line to the sun unless you run your rock sleeve over the exposed part. Just something to keep in mind. UV is bad for synth.

Securing winch line for daily driving?

If you do get a safety thimble I would suggest the Viking. It has a bigger hole so you can flip the shackle through it and have the flat pin for the strap. Suck it in when not using it.

    Jupiter and Moon align tonight

Found this if you are into that kind of thing. I forgot about tonight and got lucky walking outside.

Still hard to see cause they are really close and the moon glare washes it a bit but here it is over Vegas.

    Logandale Trail in a rental...

Glad you had a great time. Logandale is amazing. That canyon shot you are in though, you need to be more driver. Your driver tire should be up on its side wall more like this. Or you can drop in the cut more like this. Well, not you in the silver TJ like it isn't me in the red TJ but yeah...

    First time rock crawling:-)

I ran my first three trails connected and totally naive to what I was doing. That experience has cost me close to $10,000 in upgrades. I wouldn't take it back. I started looking like this. She's a big girl now. There's a big price to pay once you are addicted but its totally worth it.

How Dirty Has Your Jeep Been

I think I'd rather have a muddy outside than a dusty inside. I paid $60 to have it cleaned and when my girl flipped the visor mirror down it was covered in dust.

    4 lifts in 8 months

And they don't seem to get much easier. Grrrr The owner broke a banjo bolt over torquing, luckily there was enough to turn it back out. Auto Zone said they had it but just had a bag of parts to hang the brake line. Just Brakes, Pep Boys, O'Riley....no, no, no. Dealer had one but the only parts...

Roof Rack + Snorkel = Overland?

Soon as I figure out how to mount this drill to my JK I'm building an Underland rig. I might need bigger tires and a lot more fuel.

JEEP TRAIL OFFROAD GPS: What GPS is everyone running?

GPS? Yay or Ney? I don't know if it is all versions but I know a friend of mine has an iPad with built in GPS. I bought a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 specifically for satellite GPS. I was using Motionx on my iPhone but it relied on mobile service. It wasn't till after I bought the tablet that I...
