    You're Doing It Wrong

Not sure where to start. :rolleyes2::rolleyes2: The front and rear bumpers are made out of steel i-beams. At least they took the time to weld on some D-ring mounts. The shovel is in a pipe sticking 4+ inches out from the side of the body with a handle that is cut in half. Probably needs...

    Grand Canyon

Went to that area in December two years back when my mother was volunteering at Pipe Springs monument, had my XJ on 31s and had no issues finding some scenic places. Most of the actual trails I ran were in Moab on the way down. +1 on Toroweap, not a difficult trail by any means, few minor...

Crazy/lucky roll over and recovery story

Came across this story over the weekend and thought I would share. Full disclaimer, not me, not associated in any way. This is a trail I have run with some members on here and it is a sobering look at what can happen. Facebook post from the driver: Cliff notes: Guy was wheeling alone with...

    Scott's build of a 1981 CJ8 Scrambler

Carb could be tuned for a different altitude, or clogged jets. Pull the plugs, make sure they look fine and test the spark on all of them. Pop off the distributor cap and make sure the points are clean and working, and the spark advance is working.

How to transport with tow rig?

Disclaimer, I like working on my own stuff and I would do this as a vacation. Drive it, if it breaks, fix it. Think of it as a learning experience. Most of the bolts should be SAE, bring a set of tools and give yourself some extra time. If nothing breaks hit a trail or two on the way.

    SOA CJ5 needs softer ride

I had a SOA on my 85 CJ-7 with stock springs, it was not the softest ride, but I was in my early 20's then so.... If I remember correctly the YJ springs are a little wider up front, switching to them would be a little bit of fab work. I know some YJ guys who are putting XJ springs on the rear...

    World of Tanks

Nice STi. I still have mine, 05 wagon with most of an STi swap(not the brakes because it won't clear 15s). Did a few track days but I have always been more of a rally fan: If you want to play WOT, let me know, Can get you to a tier 4 in one evening.

How hard to unlift a CJ7

If it is just a suspension lift, most stuff would be easy. Most likely things: Springs Shackles Driveshafts Shocks Axle U bolts if blocks are involved Brake lines Less likely: Axle perches (if they were altered for pinion correction, or switched to a spring over) Remove whatever t-case...
