What was done to your rig this week?

LOL, full disclosure - these guys get made fun of a lot, but I gotta hand it to them - they're resourceful as hell. Watching these guys fix a snapped axle housing on a dump truck by the side of the road is impressive. Not saying I want to drive the POS after that but they get them back "running".

The food & living conditions on the other hand.......

When I was a kid we used to search for car batteries around the neighborhood, brake them apart with whatever we could find like rocks and melt lead in an old pot we would find during the search. We used dirt or sand to make shapes/forms and pour liquid lead into them. Fun times!!! Still have some old scars from it and no lead poisoning!!!!

Thats awesome. Kids find the damndest things to amuse themselves with. Adult supervision is overrated

Had a coworker 3d print me some mounts for chase lights have little tweaks that need to be done to em but not bad for not having the lights on hand when making them lol

Also got the lights mounted on the windshield. Got the most basic mount I could find for them lol

Quick test of them, not bad for being $40/set lol

I like how the backup lights fit, now you've got me looking at my bumper lol

Since you don’t have LED lights you can prob tap right into the tail lamp wiring for the reverse bulb.
Yea but I’m thinking if I do it that way the reverse lights will also turn on when I turn them on with the switch panel. I found this on Amazon and am thinking this may work

you could wire to the reverse wire used for the rear camera and still turn them on with a switch panel by wiring to the switch panel relay (assuming your panel uses relays)

it’s the auxbeam switch panel so it has the solid state relays and all I have to connect to it is the power and ground on it so if I’m looking at it right since it would run off the same power wire it would turn on the camera or reverse light when the switch panel powers the lights on so running that diode would keep em separate right?

We would go get all the scrap wood from where they were building houses and build forts with it. Also discovered if you break old asphalt shingles into 4x4 squares they make good ninja stars. You just end up with fiber glass in your hands. Oh the good ol days!

I mentioned in another post one of the coil connector lock tabs was missing, allowing the connector to work loose.

Found the connector but holy shit, price for one connector ranged from $128 - $267 🤯

The only piece I need is the locking tab, I used a low profile zip tie (outlined in white) to insert into the connector and hold the portion of the lock clip firm on the coil. I used a 2nd zip tie (not shown) to help keep the zip tie from working loose.

Updating this post, I was pretty pissed at the price Jeep was charging for this connector do I went on a cross-vehicle connector search mission and jackpot, this exact connector (all number stamps identical) is used by Tesla and Ram, the cost for the Tesla connector on e-bay $7.00!
Ordered and will be waiting after the NYKOR ... fucking Stellantis

Inevitably, I see more of this happening. The cost of simple shit is outrageous. Just fix it for cents if you can and move on.
