No it is a 4lb mini sledge hammer. Steel head, the shortness of it is why I say mallet but it is a steel sledge hammer.

The only thing with the gear puller is the space around the pitman arm doesn't really leave me anywhere to crank it down. I could definitely, and I will, use one if I have to remove the whole arm.

I'll post some pictures once I get it off stands. Been murdering the front steering components for a week now (or rather the DL is murdering me). Will post some soon though.

I put a slightly smaller size nut over the cut bolt and tightened a c clamp to put some pressure on the bolt while I went back at it with the sledge and pickle fork. Still just as stuck. I am gonna go for the heat tomorrow.

Gonna do it tomorrow. Cut the top of the bolt off thinking if I got a little more space to put some downward pressure on I could smash it out of there but its still in there really good. The hackzall I bought isn't strong enough to cut through the bottom of the drag link bolt so I am going to...

Is the oil from the boot or the PB blaster flammable?

I've just been trying to avoid buying more tools if I didn't need to. Tried the c clamp already. The bolt looks bent which might be why it isn't dropping. If I cut it off at the bolt and arm bore it should release it?

Oh no I have been using a mallet not the ball-peen. Lol. I have been two handing the mallet swings on the pickle fork. I have a 10lb sledge I will be taking to it today.

Yeah I have been hammering it until its solid and then double hand swinging to no avail. So I soaked the hell out of it right now in PB and I will be going back tomorrow to try again. Arms and hands are swollen and sore as hell right now from hammering that pickle fork to death. If nothing else...
