XD128 Machetes price vs Similar

Does anyone know how much ORE charges for their XD128 Machetes matte black in 17"? (i forgot to call before they closed)

Also I have been getting quotes through discount tire and discount tire direct and the Machetes seem to run like $40-60 more than some similar styles such as Vision, Method, or Procomp

Are the Machetes really that much better? I have read about the Method Beadlocks not being super great but havent heard much about their other wheels.

I had a procomp set of steel wheels on my last JK and after a few years they started to rust so i really dont want to go that route again but of course the Machetes are what i want and they are quite expensive

I ran a non beadlock method wheel on my last JK and it was great quality. Solid, durable, and good looking. Decently priced as well.

I now run an MB wheel(Discount Tire brand) and they are also very good quality for the price.

Good to know, the Method Grid looks pretty damn close to the Machete and through DT it was $50/wheel cheaper

It's a great looking wheel! I'd run it!

They make 2 versions of it one called the Grid and one called Mesh the Mesh is like $30/wheel even cheaper but the fake little beadlock bolts stick out not flush with the ring and i feel like that is just asking to get ripped off on the rocks F that

I will say, that's the one thing I didn't like about the method wheels I ran. Mine were simulated beadlocks, and the bolts stuck out. I knew they were asking for it on a trail, LoL.

Since EVO 1 runs the Machetes I think asking if they "really that much better" is enough justification. I bought my Chamber Pros for 1. I have seen them in action on rigs that do more hardcore lines than I do. 2. I wanted the backspacing without spacers. 3. Looks. Comes at a premium though.

Yeah i totally get seeing reputable rigs that beat them up should be enough justification and if i had a ton of money to blow then yeah worth it totally. But i am on a budget so if i can get the same look as the Matchete and the backspace i need then why would i waste the money i could save and set aside for a PR44 UNLESS they are shit wheels from a shitty company, at that point then yeah its worth the extra money to not get a shitty product. But saving $250 by getting a different brand that will still hold up just fine means more money for the never ending money sucker in my garage haha

I like my method wheels when I had them on my dodge. Look at all the desert racers a lot of them are running methods on there race trucks. I haven't used method bead locks on my personal vehicle but have built and installed several sets on customer vehicles and race trucks with no complaints from them about the wheels.

The bolts may not matter as much to some people as others, it all depends on where you go I guess. It wouldn't affect me because I wheel in sand and on fire roads and such, there are not rocks to climb where I go. If I did rocks I would go with slabs, chamber pros, or machetes, but I'm certainly no expert either by any means

Don't forget about Raceline.. they make a great Wheel as well and they are race proven at KOH, and Baja as well...one thing I really like about the KMCs is that they machined holes in the beadlock rings to drain water/mud .... great design element
