Rob Burgundy's 1 ton slooow build

Well I got really lucky today. My friend ended up giving me his 14 bolt off a 03 Chevy. So now I'll be starting with the rear. And hopefully get this 05 d60 in the middle of the month. Now to start cleaning this axle up. 1475434675064.jpg

Well today I had some time to clean up the axle. So I opened up the diff cover to check out the gears and found a few pieces of metal shavings I looked at the ring it was good I pulled the shafts out and they looked good only thing I didn't get to check was the pinion but I'll do that another time. Anyways I got all the brackets off and cleaned up the axle a bit. Now just waiting on the Artec truss to weld up and to get the TMR 15 bolt shave kit[emoji1] . 1475622000733.jpg

Nice can't wait to see your build. One thing I don't think you mentioned was abs compatibility. Also that rear axle has an ebrake you could use just need to figure out how to attach the cables to the jeep.

Yea there's a kit from artec I'll be using to set up abs and speedo and for the e break I'll have to figure that out and see if the cables for the axle are long enough or splice them together from the stock ones.

Yesterday I finally went out on a nearby offroad park hidden falls. It was nice real dusty I think I got like 10 pounds of dust in my nose and 100 in the jeep. But for being completely stock I did pretty good on some lvl 3 and 4s. I did get high centered 4 times and needed a tug. I only got 1 scratch that I know of on my Evo oil pan skids I put on the day before.i got some video from my gopro I'll have to learn how to set up and put on here later. 1477235408959.jpg1477235427385.jpg1477235447226.jpg1477235457769.jpg1477235465910.jpg1477235478390.jpg1477235488439.jpg1477235502212.jpg1477235515864.jpg1477235523879.jpg1477235541429.jpg

Looks like a lot of fun!! A stock JKU is surprisingly capable.

Yea It was fun. I was kinda surprised that I got out of a few spots without lockers going up and out of the creek with wet sport tires. I did puncture one I'm guessing it was while in the creek.

I can't wait to see the progress on this thing! Judging by your last jk, this one will be stout. And the color choice is awesome

Thanks yea taking a Little while I only use my bonus from work to buy things for the jeep since it's pretty much free money every month. And since I'm barely off 9 days a month I don't have much time to get things done like I would like too.
