The build of Clifford's tire carrier...

Caught the Bug
Just got my steel today and already had some other steel laying around to use. Still waiting on some more parts to arrive but this is everything so far. ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1466272912.037261.jpgImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1466272961.611289.jpg so this is what iv been running for a few months now. This will be my before picture. ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1466273012.035917.jpg . I'm excited for starting this build. Can't wait to see how it turns out.

What area do you live in maybe I'll stop by and see how its coming. Or if you need an extra set of hands let me know.

Picked up some more steel today and got started on my roto plate. The last pics I was trying to figure out how I'm going to space them out but I finally got them right were I want them but didn't take a pic of it so I'll take some when I get the chance. Next up is to make my high lift mount to go on the top side of the Rotopax and to weld on a CB antenna mount onto my roto plate.

Once I get the plate all finished up then I can start the really exciting part of building the actual carrier..
Slowly but surely! [emoji4]

Looks great man. Clean cuts on the steel. Keep in mind the weight of the tanks full, the jack, and the tire itself. I built a swing out on mine and I don't even keep the jack on there anymore, it's just too heavy. It stays in the garage unless I'm going out on a trail.

Thanks guys! Yeah idk if I mentioned but my carrier is going to be a body mount so I will be using the hinge brackets as one contact and the body panel on the other side to mount a bracket plate. It will be very similar to the Genright carrier.

Are you gonna incorporate some kind of stop on your tire carrier to limit the amount it will open? If not, I would consider it. Maybe something with a slide that you could remove if you want it to open the whole way.
I gotta try to rig something up for my EVO as it seems I am always parked on some kind of slope that it wants to swing all the way open up against the body. And its always when I park way out in the lot & some boob
feels the need to park next to me. Bungies will work OK but I'd like something a little more substantial.

Yeah I'm going to have it lock open when I swing it open all the way and also going to weld on a stop block so it won't hit my tail light.

Tire Carrier Pop pin. If you can weld, this thing is fricken awesome. Best mod I've done for my tire carrier. See post #56: http://wayalife.com/showthread.php?31128-WJCO-s-Build-Thread-1999-WJ/page2
