I see it says Engo. My buddy's rough country quit working and when I took it apart it looked identical to that one. Rust and all. Lol

That's what I said. Guess I'll fix the it and sell it to someone that thinks cheap is better.
They told me I could buy the solo kids for $50 plus shipping though. The winch was $300.
WTF, really??? I mean seriously, how much would it cost these guys to just send you a replacement box? Granted, being that it'd have to come from China, I suppose it can be pretty pricey. :naw:
Atleast rough country sent my friend on free of charge even though he was a few months out of warranty. I told him it sounded like a good time to upgrade lol
Maybe I should see if rough country will send me a replacement. :cheesy:

I have the old one. It has one solenoid that was bad and works now that I cleaned on it but it's weak. The new one they sent him had the newer style single sealed unit. I also have one of those out of another China winch that I could send your way if any of it would help you.
How exactly would one maintain a waterproof, maintenance free, sealed box?Seems to me you would have warranty issues the second you bust it open.
Thanks for the info. Just ordered one todayRunning a Smitybilit X2O 10K. For half the price I decided to experiment. The winch is well built with Syn rope of 100'. Comes w/a wireless remote, which is a nice safety option. I have used 3 times on straight pulls and one via a single pulley rig. The winch performed flawlessly, no slipping and no over heating. Impressed.
*Experiment was due to its IP68 rating!
