Nothing is good enough for you people.
I just installed the ACE rock rails. Took 30 minutes solo. Sure a jedi with a TIG could do better welds, but for the money spent I'm very happy with them.
315 on stock rack for a while? Also, what rear tire carrier to keep factor hitch?

Apparently, the only opinion that matters is yours. Everyone else should of course hold their tongue unless they agree with you :rolleyes2:
And really, that's all that should matter.
For me personally, I don't get the need for rocker guards for your rocker guards but of course, I know that me saying as much will only antagonize you.

Ace is a great brand to buy, if your not planning to wheel it. Much like smittybilt it'll hold up fine to the average JK owner.

Here's the thing, when you think about your favorite rigs out there and you want to emulate those builds do you see them running those rockers? Nope! Because there are better options out there. That said, Chris said for the average wheeler they would probably work fine for you. So you'll be average.

while i don't like the smittybilt rock rails because they hang a little lower than i like and have made going up some ledges harder than it should, they've taken a beating and have held up fine the last 5yrs. the step also makes it easier for the rest of the family to get in.
now that we have the 2nd jeep i will be swapping in LOD for better clearance. i guess that'll move me out of the average rank hahahaha

That's great, my JK8 came with smittybilt. It was never wheeled and the rockers still managed to dent the tub.

You sure can wheel with it, just be prepared to fuck up a tub running a slider under the factory sliders. That's the stupidest shit I've read all day.

X's 2. Funny thing is, you might not even notice it happened. On the Jeep I saw with this we did not notice what his ACE sliders had done until we pulled them (and the Rubi sliders) to install skins and real sliders. The ACE sliders had pushed his rubi rails into the tub and created a bit of a crease. It wasn't a huge deal, but that was also before he had really started wheeling his Jeep. Had he kept them on for the long haul, his tub would now certainly be screwed.

I'd believe it, there was a time they made 2 different rail designs with the same model number. one set flexed enough it would damage the tub, the other set didn't flex but like i mentioned they hang lower than i like.

There is wheeling. And, there is wheeling. Some people confuse the former with the latter. Then get hurt cause they take being the former as an insult.

Yes, I now agree. I'm not going to be rock crawling with my new $45000 daily driver jeep. Now my old CJ7? I used to bash that thing all over the place. My "Sliders" were 3" angle iron made out of 1/4" thick steel bolted to the body every 6". Indestructible. I could high lift the whole side of the jeep from those. For kid steps, they're a hell of a lot better than the OEM plastic sahara steps.

Anyone of us can appreciate wanting to get our rig built up the day before yesterday. The reason you hear people say things like, we just purchased a new rig and this time it will be a slow build and done right is because they've gone too fast or have seen people go too fast in the past and regret it. If you have to save up a little longer to add a better option doesn't make sense to do that? Do some easy wheeling, read up, meet people and ask around before throwing money at the rig. Speaking from experience I wish I had done more of that my first time around.

Maybe the ace bumper was the best choice for his needs? Same as the sliders? Why are yall hating it's an American made product using the same steel that PSC and EVO use we don't all wheel the rubicon and Moab weekly like you guys get to
