Screw You WAYALIFE - We are NORCAL!

I see now this effort is doomed but I now want to point out a few things that some people may not have heard or have purposely ignored. I will also try to connect the dots on information that has been debated before.

There are some people who think Rox Star is not a "Stand up Guy". These same people are highly offended when his "friends" and others, like me, who have only known him 3 days, come to his defense when he is so obviously not a "Stand up Guy."
Here is a point I believe has not been mentioned. Please read it carefully and keep it in mind if you respond.
Rox Star brought with him on this trip three 1.75 liter bottles of American Honey. One for each night to share with the entire group around the campfire.
Hey EVERYBODY, have you EVER been on a run where someone did this. Pretty cool, especially from someone who is so obviously not a "Stand up Guy"

When Rox Star's Jeep broke and Bobby and Ricky were ready to head out to meet Eddie, Rox Star gave one of the bottles to Bobby and asked Bobby to thank Eddie and Cindy profusely and hand him the bottle as a THANK YOU GIFT. Bobby mentioned this CLEARLY in his very well written explanation posted 5 or 6 days ago. No one responded to that portion of Bobby's post or even acknowledged there was a gift given or received. Even as of this very moment, Eddie, nor any of the people who seem to know for sure that Rox Star is not a "Stand up Guy" have acknowledged that a thank you gift was presented at the top of Cadillac Hill, probable at the exact moment that Eddie presented Bobby with the much needed and appreciated power steering pump.
Were there smiles and handshakes all around and then more smiles and handshakes all during and after Bobby welded the sway bar with the welder brought up by Eddie? I think so but i was not there. The welder brought by Eddie was very good thinking on his part and I am sure was much appreciated.
I heard that photos or video of the entire event were taken by Cindy. Knowing the outstanding production quality of all of your videos, maybe we will get a peek at the mysterious thank you gift someday.

Having watched numerous videos of WAL trail runs, and the evening parties afterwards, it seems like a 1.75 liter bottle of American Honey would be a perfect gift for Eddie for his birthday, Christmas, or as a thank you for an extra special favor. I bet some of the people reading this have given him the exact same gift. Did he acknowledge it or say thank you? I am sure he did, and most graciously.

Let's move forward two days.
Eddie has the "item" tucked away safely in his liquor cabinet when he reads the post from Overlander that starts off with these exact words "That was a Fucking Lame Ass thank you." Probably over 90% chance that Overlander was aware of the new item in Eddie's liquor cabinet as he wrote his post.

Eddie, you have asked this rhetorical question on this thread several times. And I quote you. "What could I have possibly done to prevent this."
I have a pretty good idea you may want to consider.
You could have and SHOULD have INSTANTLY posted that Overlander was way out of line with his profane, rude and incorrect post, and that you had received from Rox Star the perfect thank you gift, at the perfect location, with the perfect timing, perfect weather, and presented by Bobby and Ricky with a heartfelt thanks from Rox Star and the entire WAL group.

That might have helped a little.

A helpful tip for Overlander:
I see you were a little late signing up for this trip and were #2 on the waiting list. It is a shame you were stuck as #2 for over 6 months but unfortunately nobody cancelled. I hope that did not influence your attitude toward the group.
Guess you were beaten out by people from Oregon, Michigan and 3 Jeeps from SoCal. You need to be much quicker signing up since this WAL group with several members located near Sacramento do a lot of runs and are highly organized and post all of their upcoming trips very publicly and with no limitations on who comes or where they come from. The next great trip could have the roster completely filled with people from Florida, Maine, Washington or Texas.
They make their upcoming trips very easy to find. Just look under the upcoming trip section and hunt for NorCal. Makes it easy to find so you are not wasting time scrolling thru hundreds of interesting trips only to find that it is 2500 miles away.
Good luck in signing up and I am sure you will be welcomed with open arms just like I was.

Wait a second. I just heard there will no more NorCal trip
I wonder why that happened. DO YOU?

Your turn, Eddie

Honestly, I'm not trying to be facetious here but, did anyone actually ask you to help patch things up? Has it ever occurred to you that the only people who are actually involved in any of this at all are Rox Star and me? You do realize that all the people who have chosen to leave the forum have done over a stand up guy like him, right? You'll forgive me but, if the offended party really wanted to patch things up, they would still be here trying to communicate as much rather than putting an exclamation point on their departure by announcing to others how they've removed their decals.

You know, it's almost laughable how Cindy and I went from being "amazing people" who "saved a weekend" of good times to being the cause of all the fighting and enough so that the very same people have all chosen to leave WAYALIFE. Make no mistakes, I don't "feel" like I'm the bad guy here at all but clearly, others are making me out to be one. You say that you don't know this Rox Star guy and don't even approve of what he said to me and yet, you still feel the need to patch up a falling out that was effectively caused by him. I won't lie, so far as I'm concerned, anyone who would leave this community over a stand up guy like that should go. I won't miss them for a second.

Just to be clear I haven't left Eddie. In my mind you still did save my weekend by bringing your welder.. I am very grateful of this forum, and all the great people I have met. It is because of you and WAL that I have the friends I have, and I thank you very much for that. I do think this fight has gotten blown way out of proportion and wish it never happened. I do think that Roxstar shouldn't have said what he did, but he did. At some point we just have to stop talking about it and move on.

I see now .............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................Your turn, Eddie

Are you serious with this????

I know your not! And to answer the question, no. Not one person asked for my help. I also know that it is just you and rox star involved, which is why most of my failed help was trying to keep it to that. Like I said I don't know the guy. As for the removing of the decals, i don't have an answer for you. I was just saying what good will come from saying this person did it or this one is going to. (yet again another failed attempt) yes I did feel that trying to help patch something caused by him could have helped, but was wrong and see that I did absolutely nothing to help. I might not have been asked, i might not have even helped, but all i did was try to keep friends together, I would rather try and fail, then never have tried at all. I get that, but it is always sad to see people leave. Sorry if I made some ripples and bad choices, It was all in hopes of helping!

In typical fashion, many of you guys went off the deep end defending this guy, calling names and making put downs. As a result it became NorCal vs Wayalife. Then Rox Star threw you all under the bus. And all that bravado went away until it was again about NorCal. You've been around long enough to know Wayalife always prevails here. You may not think so, but you and few others have rubbed several people wrong and not just on this topic. Panda says you are a nice guy...I've yet to see it personally and that is my stake in this.

You know the funny thing is is that you say your a nice guy also, but I have yet to see it as well. Every time I post you seem to jump all over it, but yet your such a nice guy. My post wasn't directed towards you at all so why do you even post? O and one other thing if you haven't noticed it yet I don't give a shit one bit what you think about me.

Really? Every time I've been on a wheeling trip with members of the Wayalife group, I have been offered some form of alcohol. That's a pretty bad example.

They make their upcoming trips very easy to find. Just look under the upcoming trip section and hunt for NorCal. Makes it easy to find so you are not wasting time scrolling thru hundreds of interesting trips only to find that it is 2500 miles away.

Having been involved with creating rides using a geographical tag in the headline and having discussions with longtime members, I fully understand why that's not a good idea for what Wayalife is.

For instance, me being in the SE, sees the post for the Rubicon run that has started all of this. I see it as a Rubicon run for the NorCal group. This isn't very inviting for those of us not in NorCal. I'm sure that wasn't the intention but that's how I perceive it. Everyone knows where the Rubicon trail is, what's the purpose of putting NorCal in the title? So all the NorCal folks can easily find it?

You mention finding interesting rides but then find them to be thousands of miles away, but that's kind of the point, to bring the community together.

I am a nice guy. Ask those that know me. Ask 99% percent of those that only know me from what I type here. In fact, I'm so nice I tried to help you and the Mrs with what could have been an issue. All I got was a big FU. So yeah, I take issue with that. I take issue with you posting at others in similar fashion here. I take issue with the fact that you can't apologize and just want everything to go away and blow over.

Of coarse, me, I'm only a webwrencher so what value could I possibly bring to this place???

The way I see it, this is a perfect place for a guy like me. Because it's more than wrenching or being a badass on the trail. "It's more than just a jeep, its a wayalife."

Silence.... interesting.

So I gotta ask, being that this whole thing revolves around my forum and some pretty comical if not douchy comments made to me personally after helping a guy out, why in the hell is my forum and/or I the bad guy here? Why in the hell is ANYONE trying to defend this guy or make excuses for what he said or try to be sympathetic toward anyone who would leave because I told the TRUTH about what he said? Honestly, none of this makes any sense to me.

I just read all this crap, Wow you save a guys trip delivering parts and we get this thread. Seems shallow to me. Good job Eddie and that you for helping a guy out.

Way too much bullshit for me to actually read it all.

First, this whole thing started because of a half ass apology Rox Star gave on the FORUM. Never once did I say anything about gifts or anything else because that's not the issue. The issue is with someone being "so grateful" but can't even say thank you and has to quote someone else who said thank you. That's a bitch move.

As for me being on the waiting list for 6 months, I was one of the first people who responded besides the NorCal guys. I asked to be on the waiting list since I didn't know if I could make it or not. Nice try though.

There are some people who think Rox Star is not a "Stand up Guy". These same people are highly offended when his "friends" and others, like me, who have only known him 3 days, come to his defense when he is so obviously not a "Stand up Guy."

Hey EVERYBODY, have you EVER been on a run where someone did this. Pretty cool, especially from someone who is so obviously not a "Stand up Guy"

:cheesy: Nah, I've never heard of people bringing up TONS OF LIQUOR for everyone to enjoy around the campfire and all on their own dime. I mean, who the hell would do a thing like that especially on a WAYALIFE run? I can totally see how you would see this Rox Star guy that you've only met once as being such a "stand up guy"

When Rox Star's Jeep broke and Bobby and Ricky were ready to head out to meet Eddie, Rox Star gave one of the bottles to Bobby and asked Bobby to thank Eddie and Cindy profusely and hand him the bottle as a THANK YOU GIFT. You'll forgive me but I think you're confusing a relayed "thank you" that was given by Bobbie as somehow being one that I "actually" got from your "stand up guy" Rox Star. Of course, as I have said many times before, had that been the only thing I ever heard, we wouldn't be having this conversation now. To emphasize the point, had Rox Star said nothing to me "personally" at all, we wouldn't be having this conversation now. Unfortunately, your "stand up guy" Rox Star did CHOOSE to contact me and with what I considered to be a pretty ungrateful response. In fact, he went so far as to ACCUSE ME of "calling others on the forum" to call him out for his halfass thank you here on the forum. Oh yeah, your newly found friend really is one hell of a "stand up guy".

Were there smiles and handshakes all around and then more smiles and handshakes all during and after Bobby welded the sway bar with the welder brought up by Eddie? I think so but i was not there. The welder brought by Eddie was very good thinking on his part and I am sure was much appreciated.

Funny how you admit to not being there and yet, you seem to have such a vivid imagination of how things went, how everyone felt and even what was said.

I heard that photos or video of the entire event were taken by Cindy. Knowing the outstanding production quality of all of your videos, maybe we will get a peek at the mysterious thank you gift someday.

Funny, I didn't know that it was important for me to publically thank someone for a gift that was indirectly given to me by someone else as a way to say thanks for helping him out especially when that same guy just got done ACCUSING ME of "calling others on the forum" to call him out. I know you seem to love free liquor and put more value on it than words but to me, hearing someone tell me how "In hindsight, his group really should have sent a couple rigs down to Folsom (the closest part store that had a pump, that they could locate) for the part. His group, or more specifically, he should have not asked for help outside of their group. They should have taken care of themselves." is kind of a slap in the face. But of course, that's just me.

Having watched numerous videos of WAL trail runs, and the evening parties afterwards, it seems like a 1.75 liter bottle of American Honey would be a perfect gift for Eddie for his birthday, Christmas, or as a thank you for an extra special favor.

:cheesy: You sure to have an infatuation with American Honey! If you want, I'd be more than happy to send you the bottle that I got from your "stand up guy" Rox Star. My friends - people who really know me know there are a lot of other liquors I would prefer for a perfect birthday or Christmas gift. But, I digress.

I bet some of the people reading this have given him the exact same gift. Did he acknowledge it or say thank you? I am sure he did, and most graciously.

Ummm, let's see. With the exception of Rox Star who asked someone else to give me a bottle of liquor as a way to say THANKS FOR HELPING HIM OUT, most of the people who've given me gifts have done so with no other motive than to just be nice. Of course, none of them later ACCUSED ME of "calling others on the forum" to call them out for a halfass thank you they made on the forum either.

Let's move forward two days.

Ummm, I know you're old but are you also senile? If you're going to say you're quoting me, you had better take some time to PROVE it especially if you're going to suggest that I said it "several times". :naw:

First off, you ASSUME that I have no life and that I sit around my computer all day long following stupid Norcal threads. Second, just because Overlander was rude in what he said doesn't mean that he was "out of line" or "incorrect". Third, all I did was TELL THE TRUTH. I simply shared what was said to me directly by your "stand up guy" Rox Star. In spite of what you choose to believe, had he NOT said what he did TWICE, I would have come on and set the record straight. I would have said that NO THANKS was needed but that I did get a bottle of Honey from him. I realize you're hell bent in seeing only what you want to see but make no mistake, HE chose to contact me - HE chose to say what he said and you'll forgive me if that makes a greater impression on me than a stupid bottle of liquor that was given to me by another person as a form of thanks for ME HELPING HIM out. :naw:

That might have helped a little.

So you assume and really, AS IF it was my obligation to do. You, just like all the other "norcalians" are really something else to try and BLAME ME for all this.

Your turn, Eddie

Your turn, Scott

What would you like me to apologize for. Eddie has said it many times that he doesn't have a problem with me being here, and that he isn't upset with me at all. So again I don't care what you think. Until he tells me to leave I'll still be right here.

I know you haven't left and I hope you know that my comments aren't necessarily being directed toward you. All this would be long gone by now if not for people like this self-righteous Scott guy going on the attack and blaming me for not publically thanking Rox Star for a bottle of American Honey that was supposed to have been given as a form of "thanks" for helping him out. Of course, privately contacting others on the forum to say how they've left and have pulled off their decals isn't helping either.

Well, apparently not everyone here were the friends you thought they were. My friends, we can go toe to toe with and don't kid yourself, we will. But, at the end of the day, we'll still be friends. If these guys want to leave especially for a guy like Rox Star, I would encourage them to do so.

You seem to have missed the point. I'm sure others picked up on it though.

I don't care if you stay or go. In fact, never said you had to leave or that I even wanted you to leave. Welcome to Wayalife. :standing wave:

Thanks jags. Means a lot.

I just read all this crap, Wow you save a guys trip delivering parts and we get this thread. Seems shallow to me. Good job Eddie and that you for helping a guy out.

Apparently, I can do no good.

This is correct. I never said that you weren't welcome here.

That being said, this Scott guy sure has an active imagination and one that's clearly being fueled by someone who was there on Cadillac Hill. If it isn't you, it's Bobbie or Clark. If you really would like to see all this go away and allow everyone to move on, perhaps you should tell them to stop feeding the fire.

None of us have Scott's phone number nor have talked to him since the trip I promise you that.
