Cleaning your JEEP after a mud fest

Hello there. I am a new (fresh catch) jeeper and have just went to my first mud fest (gopher dunes), and am looking for some tips and ideas for cleaning you engine compartment after a nice mud bath.
Anyone with some ideas?

Thank you in advance

Take a hose to it to get as much of it off as you can. After that spray it down with simple green

I've done that once...and I hope to never do it again

This is how I cleaned it: with jeep motor off and cold....shove a towel down the air box intake tube, spray down engine bay with simple green and let soak for a couple minutes...then spray with pressure washer being extra careful not to spray air box intake or any electronics directly. Remove towel from air box and cross your fingers when you attempt to start

Good luck

Pressure wash it first then use a citrus based degreaser and soak the shit out of it. Let it sit for a few minutes and then rinse. Wash afterwards by hand with soapy water. Nothing beats elbow grease.

THANK YOU...

I couldn't resist, but yes I am will stay away from mud holes. More fun driving in trails.

I was thinking on a good hose down but wanted some ideas on a good cleaner after attacking mud.
Think I am going to try the simple green stuff. looks like I got some good ol elbow grease in my near future

Thanks again
