Without question, the WAYALIFE EPIC TREX Rockin Rubicon Runs are always a great time but with almost 30 Jeeps and well over 50 amazing people coming from as far away as Idaho, Ohio, New York and Massachusetts, I'd have to say that this was by far one of the best ones ever! Everyone was so much fun and I still can't stop laughing every time I think about the crazy good times we had at camp. Of course, Andrew proposing to Julie on the trail and her accepting was truly icing on the cake.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to take as many pics as I would have preferred but, below are a few that I was able to grab with my phone. It is my hope that others were able to snap a few as well and will add them to this thread.

2 DAYS BEFORE THE RUN
A couple of days before our run, a bunch of people decided to make their way up to Tahoe early and a few of them were kind enough to stop by Camp WAYALIFE to say hello.

Keagan, Alana and Jay were the first of the East Coast folks to show up.
main.php

main.php

To help welcome all our guests, we decided to have a BBQ and wait for the rest of the East Coast crew to show up.
main.php

To good times ahead!
main.php

main.php

Late into the night, they finally showed up. Here's a shot of Andrew saying hello to everyone.

Having driven well over 2,500 miles, a few of the guys from the East Coast like Andrew decided to use some of the tools at Camp WAYALIFE to do a once over and take care of some well needed maintenance before hitting the Rubicon.

This is about the point where Andrew proposed to Julie and so, I'm kind of thinking this part of the Rubicon Trail should now be referred to as "Proposal Point"

The kids were quite industrious on this trip and pulled in a load of crawfish.
main.php

Even better, Kyle's daughter Sam lead the way, cooked them up and got all the other kids to eat them.
main.php

main.php

Funny how there's always way too much food to go around - you simply can't give it away.

Again, I apologize for the lack of photos but when you're leading a group as big as this and trying to film it at the same time, there's only so much one can do. That being said, I really do need to thank JeepFan, Gem Hunter, RanchoRubi, Trail Bud, Panda, Mooch and crippledpetey for all their help in making this run possible. We honestly couldn't have done it without you. I also have to thank Steigertime for bringing out all the tasty Cliff Bars as I know everyone appreciated snacking on them on the trail. Of course, I have to thank noroads and Young Fire for having shot glasses made and bringing them out for everyone who came - I mean, who does that?! You guys rock!! Last but not least, I have to thank all the East Coast guys and gals - Jay, Alana, Keagan, Robbie, Bill and Dom for making the crazy long ass drive out here and really, everyone else who joined us on this awesome run and for making it so much fun. You guys and gals are the reason why Cindy and I started WAYALIFE and we so hope you'll join us on future runs to come.

Until next time...

BONUS RUN
After recovering from our WAYALIFE Rockin Rubicon Run celebration the night before, we made our way back to Camp WAYALIFE to get everyone buttoned back up and to work on a few Jeeps. After sending those who needed to head back home on their way, the rest of us decided to do another easy run with the hopes of exploring some of the cool things you can find in this neck of the woods.

Fortunately for us, we only had a couple of Jeeps that needed some help after our run and worst of which was a bent axle flange on Dom's Jeep. Fortunately, Moochie had a spare and so we were able to get it swapped before sending Dom on his long drive home.
main.php

As luck would have it, pulling the shaft also revealed that Dom had twisted splines as well.
main.php

After working on Jeeps, Cindy and I took Jay, Alana, Keagan, Andrew, Julie, Et, Tony, Steph, Tina and Jason up to some old snow sheds we know of in the area. It'd been a while since we've been up here and we weren't sure if it'd be open or not but, as luck would have it, they were open... at least, on this day.

Not exactly a snow shed but this was a cool tunnel we got to go through.
main.php

Last but not least, this is one of many historical trail makers we've come across over the last few years and specifically, this one notes the climb up the Truckee Route.
main.php

For those of you who know where these snow sheds are and/or how to get to them, I'd be grateful if you would PLEASE not post ANY information about them.

I hope you all enjoyed the pics from our short bonus run

WooHoo!! What an epic trek on the Rubicon Trail with all our good friends! So awesome that a few came from all the way back east!

Amazing time that's all I can say.
We still here for dinner tonight so it isn't over yet but what a great run with great people.

Great trip. Epic wheeling with an amazing group of people. Still here in Tahoe with the Wayalife crew, will post photos when I get a chance.

Shout out to all the trail leaders and tail gunners for keeping the groups rolling and Eddie and Cindy for their amazing hospitality.

WAYALIFE EPIC TREX : Rockin Rubicon Run 2015 - July 14th-16th

Another incredible Rockin Rubicon trip. A big thanks to everyone for a great time! A special thanks to Tony and Eddie for the axle shaft replacement on the trail...and of course Ken, for supplying the axle shaft.
